Dum Laga Ke Haisha.....

Dum Laga Ke Haisha is a very simple and enjoyable movie. It is wholesome family entertainer from YRF. This movie depicts the sweetness of heart where a couple struggle to cope-up with each other’s inadequacies. The cast of the movie Ayushmann Khurana, Bhumi Pednekar, Sanjay Mishra, Seema Pahwa and Sheeba Chaddha has done justice to their character and delivered a splendid movie. The film replicates the beautiful time of nineties and narrates us the story of young lad Prem who was 10th fail and very weak in English. He was forced to get married to Sandhya by his family. Sandhya was working to become a qualified teacher and Prem's family was hopeful to get monetary support from Sandhya. Everyone was happy with the marriage except the groom because of his dear bride's huge size. Each groom wishes for a trophy wife whom they can show off in-front of his friends but since Sandhya was overweight her presence used to make him feel embarrassed and awkward.  This continued disagreement led to the divorce. But judge before granting divorce asked the couple to spend six months together before divorce can be granted.Since this six months brings with it the fear and pain of separation they started looking beyond the materialistic thing and soon they started peeping in the heart of each-other which laid the foundation of a bond of lifetime through the Love started blossoming slowly.

Director Sharad Katariya brought us a story which has a completely different story line. But his hard-work has paid of by making the entire package so endearing and earnest. This film was shot in Haridwar and it soak us in the calmness of that place. The director focuses on establishing each of his characters so well that you don’t miss a single recognizable face – full credit also to Shanoo Mehra for one of the best casting in recent times. 90s times is relived brilliantly by the Kumar Sanu songs. Ayushmann Khurana keeps getting better with every film.Newcomer Bhumi Pednekar makes an unconventional yet striking debut. Sanjay Mishra is fantastic – here’s one of the most underrated actors we have. Sheeba Chaddha (who plays Prem’s bua) is exceptional.

The drawback of the movie that comes to my mind is I wanted more couple together moments. We are able to see it only during climax when the film ends. You leave the cinema hall a bit unfulfilled with their romance, which blossoms a bit too late and ends too quickly.

Movie stresses on a very good point of inadequacy.Like we all are inadequate when we do things first time. But that discomfort of inadequacy motivated us to learn to do the task and feel competent. Similarly in marriage we should use the feelings of inadequacy as motivation and try to become perfect partners for each-other.
