I just saw "Mere Mehboob" movie.After seeing that i felt we guys have become so much casual.Movie depicts so much of mannerisms and the culture of the contemporary Muslim society.I felt so refreshed with the Urdu poetry competition ,Rajendra kumar Sherwani and Sadhana Shivdasani burka.
Also there is a lovely tickling romance between the so handsome Ashok Kumar and pretty Nimmi.
The beauty and elegance of silent love will touch your heart.The story stresses on a person inner beauty not on his/her external beauty.Obstacles and misunderstandings are seasoned with funny-man Johnny Walker’s antics.
When you see this you will feel you need to see more ! The ambiance is of a time and culture which is difficult to find now—For people who live in history and romance will love this.
This movie was released in 1963.The scene where nawab sits around smoking his hookah gives so much lucknavi taste. Nawab house looks like some Mughal Palace.
After watching the movie you will not forget Husna and her flowing ghagras.I felt as if Anwar actually existed who speaks such eloquent Urdu.I loved the grace that was depicted in this movie.It was really an golden era which is now gone with the wind.
