"2 States" the Story of Most of Indians who do inter-caste/interstate marriage. Its an acquaintance most talked about and deserve a watch. Its an book-adapted movie (a book by Chetan Bhagat).
The movie is directed by Abhishek Varman. Its a story about a MBA couple who were from different states and different brought-ups.They fell in love and wanted to have an love come arrange marriage where everyone is happy. The movie is the journey of how these young lads convince their parents to have their magical union with everyone consent.
Arjun Kapoor's performance was very realistic and superb. It was nice to see Arjun playing a different role proving everyone who doubted his ability to portray Krish.
Alia's pretty face, in saris and suits, grabs attention but it would have been better if any Tamil actress would have been taken to add gold standard in regional sensitivity & mass stereotyping.
Ronit was consistent in his demeanor all through, no over-acting like the main characters including his wife, and actually made the audience empathize with him, well done RR!
Revathi as Ananya's graceful Tamil mother is also outstanding and her music performance was totally heart stealing.
Amrita was hilarious. The punches were funny though I read most of them in the book, but still it was very nice to revisit the book.
Mast Magan has a slight Sufi touch though it is inherently a Bollywood number.Overall an entertaining movie.
In 1950’s and 1960’s among the couples who had love marriages, 90% of those love marriages had failed. So many parents don't support love marriage. Of course now in present times, this has changed for better and we see many love marriages are working fine.
I too had a love marriage and a very successful one touch-wood. According to me in our society, marriages which are inter-caste, inter-religion or totally from different culture seems to be going on rocks and are living happily right from beginning because couple have total faith in each other and both are very flexible and adjust their behavior so as to take care of other partner even if it means a sacrifice. And when family members see this, they also start supporting such couples even though the family members may have opposed such marriages to begin with. And once you get support from other family members, the foundation of marriage becomes solid. And such marriages succeed totally.
A parent support is required totally for anything we do then our marriage which is a completely new phase of our life. How can it be successful without the blessing of our parents who brought us in this world. The movie completely touches my heart and will be close to me.
